I cant take my eyes off this fluffy french toast topped with vanilla ice cream...looks like sponge cake or a ice-cream waffles issit ?!! Its exactly like the one I saw on the menu with a sweet mini strawberry decorated on the side and two chocolate sticks to compliment the chocolate sauce. Doubt anyone can resist this french toast ! The toast is enough for 2 to share and it cost around $5 plus. This is definitely a favourite for those who have a sweet tooth and love chocolate ! The combination was superb. It is soft inside and crisp on the outer layer. Apart from the desserts,  I saw a variety of delicious food on the menu and guess what, I can't wait for the next visit !! Top #5 must watch Romantic Comedy!

We love to browse through the good old movies. So, here it is, our list of top #5 romantic comedies that we have enjoyed so far.

#1 Wedding Crashers (2005)

Wedding Crashers. Watch more top selected videos about: Wedding Crashers, Vince Vaughn

Director: David Dobkin
Starring: Owen Wilson, Vince Vaughn and Rachel McAdams
Duration: 119mins

We agreed that the Wedding Crasher (2005) is the best romantic comedy we had ever watched. This love comedy is about with two long time friends, John and Jeremy (Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn) who works together in a law firm that mediate divorce cases. Both of them share similar hobbies, that is, they are womanizers. Here comes the wedding season. Both committed, professional wingmans took advantage of the 'love is in the air' to crash into every wedding and try to seduce the bridemaids. However, they found themselves falling in love with a girl each.

This is my favourite vince's scene: http://youtu.be/1tgS1n7DQbY

The wedding crasher will definitely make you laugh out loud and off your chair.

#2 Couples Retreat (2009)

A day after arriving at the resort, the rest found out that it was'nt a vacation package afterall, but a marriage therapy program. 'LL'. You will have to watch this to find out those hilarious and outrageous things that happened.

Sidetrack abit, we went to check out the actual location where this film was shot. It is actually St. Regis Resort at Bora Bora islands. This Paradise on earth smacked right in the middle of pacific ocean, 'google earth' it and you will understand what I'm trying to say.

Last on our list is 500 days of Summer. This movie is about a guy falling in love with a girl who does'nt believe in true love. The storyboard has a unique concept as it was played backwards counting back from day 500. We kind of not like the ending but it was a good movie overall. :)

Thasevi Roti Prata at Jalan Kayu

Thasevi Roti Prata
Address
237/239 Jalan Kayu

Business Hours
Daily: 24 hours

When its supper time, the first item to popped out of my mind is non other than Prata. This dish is soso common in Singapore that you can find at least one Prata store in every neighborhood. How different can this piece of dough taste from stall to stall. We seek Mr.Google for the answer. Ask and it shall be given- we found out the best Prata places in Singapore. Thasevi Roti Prata at Jalan Kayu is one of them.

This Prata stall located deeper down Jalan Kayu is 24hours. There are more than 10 varieties of Prata. We ordered the 'Kosong' and egg prata the tradition kind. Yes! This prata is indeed different. It is not oily. We had terrible oily Prata before thats why. It is crispy on the outside, soft and hot on the inside. There was only fish curry left, so we do not have a choice.

But of course Jalan Kayu is inconvenient at night for those who do not have their own transport. For those young couples who got their flats at fernvale, you are lucky.

Lao Pan Beancurd at Old Airport Road FC

Lao Pan Beancurd
Address
Old Airport Road Block 51 Market & Food Centre, 51 Old Airport Road 390051

Business hours
Tuesday-Saturday: 1130am – 8pm
Sunday: 1pm - 8pm
(Closed on Monday)

We have heard of the Lao Pan Beancurd at Old Airport Road food centre, but we didn't expect the queue to be so long, ''Q from the beancurd stall pass 2 stall, and back to the stall''. Haha. Be warned that you'll probably won't get to patronize their beancurd if you arrived after 8pm on a weekend. After our first failed attempt, we decided to head straight for the beancurd shop. There were about 20 patrons in the queue. Every minute the queue kept stacking up. Well, you would probably agree that this was the longest beancurd queue in singapore.  We queued 1/2 hour or more just to taste this 'ultimate' beancurd. On average, these people bought at least 10 beancurd at one go. There are the Original flavour - $1.50, Almond flavour - $2.50 and the normal beancurd drink.

Unlike traditional beancurd, there were no sugar syrup used in this bowl of ultimate beancurd. It has a silky texture. The taste and texture was not the only intriguing  factor, every mouth of beancurd melts instantly in your mouth. I would say it was better than Selegie and Yonghe's beancurd. Trust me you have got to try this. *The taste of the beancurd somewhat resembled to the taste of the pearls you drink with the bubble tea, so for those who do not really favour bubble tea, might have a different point of view.

Food lover, do share how you feel about this beancurd. !

Lao Fu Zi Char kway tiao at Old Airport Road FC

If you think that I'm those type who eat healthily and live healthily, yes! you are right. But one of my favourite hawker food that I had failed miserably to resist is Char Kway Tiao, and 'Hum' is definitely the best friend of Char Kway Tiao, it goes well with it.
Our Foodhunt brought us together and our good friend Yanjun to the famous Old Airport Road FC. There are many food stall here, much more than bedok85, for those who stay in the East. Even after a walk around the food center, Mel and Yanjun could not decide what to have for dinner. I knew what I want.

There was a long queue at this Lao Fu Zi Char Kway Tiao stall. Over-rated or genuine, I decided to give it a try. It took about 10mins before I got my share. Good or bad? Yes, this is good stuff, or else it would not be worth blogging. Some char kway tiao are quite soggy and wet, this plate really taste chared and it has generous portion of 'hum'. That explained the long queue. I'm calling all those Char Kway Tiao lover out there to give this a try.

Besides this stall, the other good plate of char kway tiao will be at the army market opposite Golden Mile Complex which I'll sure drop by soon...

Fish Soup Noodle

Serves : 1 pax
Preparation time : 5 mins
Cooking time : 10 mins

Ingredients
2 slice of Ginger
Toman fillet fish or any white meat fish such as threadfin
Lettuce,Tomatoes,toufu and mushrooms (own choice)

Carnation milk (optional)

Methods
Fill the pot to at least half and leave it to boil.

Add sliced ginger,noodles.
After which add all other ingredients (lettuce, tomatoes, toufu and mushrooms). Do not cook too long to achieve crunchness in lettuce and tomatoes.
Lastly, add the sliced fishes. (Note: Wash the fish with salt to remove smell and slice the fish thinly to achieve fine texture on palate). Add salt to own tasting.

Fish soup noodle is definitely one of my favourite dish. When comes to eating fish soup noodle outside, I am very particular with the type of fish they used. I do not like fishes that have very strong fishy smell and especially its dry and thick texture. I could name a few, the one i love would be at Eastpoint Foodcourt and the other one at Tamp ezlink foodcourt (interchange). Their fish is fresh and soup is really tasty.
Fish soup is very easy to cook, requires little effort and inexpensive.
I was not feeling too good the other day and he went to the supermarket early morning to get the ingredients and cooked for me. *smiles on my face. Simple meal like this brightens up my day !

Crispy prata wrapped with smoked salmon, sausages and crabsticks

Serves : 1 pax
Preparation time : 5 mins
Cooking time : 10 mins

Ingredients
Prata (NTUC house brand)
1/2 egg beaten and seasoned with pepper and/or salt
Lettuce (chopped)

Main filling
Smoked salmon / sausages / crabsticks

Spread on prata
1tsp of mayo

Methods
Heat oil in pan and fry the frozen prata.
Pour the egg and rotate it to achieve a thin slice of fried egg.
Spread the ready mixed mayo, ketchap and pepper onto the prata.
Add the lettuce and main filling and rolled it UP !!

What's the first thing that comes to your mind when you are out at night for supper? Prata ! What's the first thing that you would consider ordering in the menu list when eating Jap food? Salmon !  Have you ever heard of Prata sausages? Sausages ! How does a Prata egg wrapped with Salmon with sausages and additional Crabsticks sound ?? AWESOME BOSSOM. Credits goes to Edmund. I simply enjoy the heavenly food laid on the table. Bliss.
There are three different type of prata filling and the very first bite i tried was the salmon. Prata egg with salmon ! WOW... I wouldn't thought of that combination. He did. Trust me, the taste was heavenly. Crispy prata wrapped with egg taste good, wrapped with salmon and spread sauce is simply a BOMB. That's my favourite among the three. Followed by prata egg with sausages and crabsticks.
Apart from the main dish, Edmund even prepared a side fruit salad to go along with the BOMB. The fruit salad is perfect ! I am not a big fan of yogurt but the cuts fruits ( apple, orange and rasins) mixed with yogurt is SLURPS.. TRY IT !

Good old Ice Creams

Red bean, Chendol, Yam, Pulat hitam, Chempedak, Durian and feeling Corny. I recalled it was wrapped in paper back then and it cost only 50cents per stick. Now, you pay for the same price but a smaller version as compared to previous. It shrunk !

Alright, I would not go into how much our purchasing power has shorten the ice cream over the years. Its definitely a worth buy ice-cream. We love this ice cream.

Personally my favourite is chendol, while Mel thinks every flavor is awesome. I have to force her to pick one, so finally with much reluctant she chose red bean. Well, i love red bean too. :) Such a reminisce for the good old time.

Tiong Bahru Pau

People's Park Complex Food Center
Address
32 New Market Road, 050032

It was about six years ago together with my poly friends (yanjun, cabin, brian, yibin) and I did a food race. One of the food point was Tiong Bahru bao (the original shop house store at Tiong Bahru). I was not fascinated with bao at all and this was because I had not tried Tiong Bahru bao. The first bao we ordered that hot afternoon was 'Tau Pau' (big bao) and we were warned that it was very hot inside. We were mentally prepared but did not expect that the bao was actually quite soupy. The first bite splattered much of the gravy onto our mouth and it tasted heavenly.

Today, they had opened up a few outlets in Singapore. We stumbled upon one at People's Park FC and I ordered the same old tau bao ($1.50) again without any hesitation. I must admit that it was not as good as i recalled, but still good. Mel love it at first bite, but of course I am confident that she would love every single food i recommend. The store lady owner was nice and friendly, she talked to us and allowed us to take a picture of the store.

For those who do not fancy the good old bao, try this. I heard the char siew bao was good too.

Poy Kee Yong Tau Foo at People's Park FC, chinatown

Poy Kee Yong Tau Foo
Address
People's Park Food Centre
#01-1066
11am to 7pm daily

This is a teochew styled yong tau foo that my parents brought me to eat. Many years it stood here in People's park food market and been a decade since I first tried it.

All their yong tau foo were self-made and you do not have to worry on what to pick as they will decide for you. The highlight of this yong tau foo that i favour very much is the noodle. Each bite was just right, not too hard and very QQ.

If you ever step into chinatown people's park, try this and also the tiong bahru bao.
